Kivu Care Project Overview

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)is paradoxically one of the world’s richest countries in resources, yet among the poorest due to decades of conflict, instability, violence, and trauma.

Our Beliefs:

  • We believe there is no place—no matter how dark—where Jesus’ love, mercy, healing, and compassion cannot reach.
  • We believe the current situation in the DRC positions the church to be the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing good news, care, and healing to the brokenhearted, and fostering true worship of the living God.
  • We believe that creating safe and equitable spaces for emotional and spiritual healing is critical to breaking cycles of stigma, supporting recovery, and building healthy families, communities, and churches—ultimately helping to end the cycle of violence in the DRC.

About Kivu Care: Kivu Care is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families as they recover from trauma. We equip churches and organizations to address emotional wounds and substance addiction through the lens of scripture.

Our central goal is to empower survivors on their recovery journey and equip Christian and community leaders, while also working to rebuild lasting peace by addressing emotional wounds in eastern DRC.

How You Can Help: Your support enables Kivu Care to provide trauma care, counseling, substance addiction support, and training for churches and Christian leaders to meet the growing emotional and spiritual needs of the community.

It also helps us build the first Trauma Healing Center in Goma, eastern DRC.
