Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Hub
In a region affected by significant social and political upheaval, Christians face the challenges of armed conflict, religious extremism, radical nationalism, and pressure from globalization and secularization. The church needs Christ-centered leaders who are committed to the holistic transformation of their communities and theological education models that are innovative and relevant for this context.
Recent Hub Activities:
Established the International Evangelical Theological Alliance for the region.
Convened 32 Christian organizations to coordinate holistic support for those affected by war.
Trained church and seminary members and military chaplains to support amputees in Ukraine.
Equipped 30 educators from 21 theological schools to design and deliver online courses.
43 participants in our Institute for Excellence learned strategies and built action plans to make theological education more sustainable.
Future Hub Plans:
Develop resources for trauma healing and expand workshops for those ministering to amputees in Ukraine.
Launch a contextualized doctoral program for aspiring theological scholars and educators.
Organize workshops for seminaries and churches related to deaf ministry, peace-building, and church planting.
Work with partners to promote research, publication, emerging leader development, and sustainability for theological education in the region.
