Magdeline Montoya and Edwin Quispe are Peruvian Canadians whose lives and ministry have been shaped by Christian service, social commitment, and a deep conviction to serve through integral (holistic) mission. Following the political violence that affected Peru in the 1980s, they served with World Vision Peru, walking alongside families displaced by the internal armed conflict as they returned, rebuilt their communities, and began processes of healing. Among the communities they served was Uchuraccay, a place deeply marked in Peru’s history and a testimony of resilience and restoration.

These years of ministry among vulnerable populations, along with Edwin’s continued annual visits and their ongoing research into the needs of the local Peruvian church, have deepened their conviction that lasting transformation goes beyond material assistance and must address the whole person—spiritual, emotional, relational, and social.

After many years living in Canada and through a season of prayer and discernment, Magdeline and Edwin are returning to Peru to serve collaboratively with local churches, schools, and community organizations, working across denominational lines.  Their desire is to strengthen and complement the work already taking place, adding capacity, resources, and hope where God is already at work.

Their ministry will focus on four strategic areas:

-Financial education, promoting biblical stewardship and economic dignity.

-Inner healing, accompanying emotional and spiritual restoration processes.

-Marriage and purposeful relationships, strengthening healthy bonds that impact future generations.

-The integration of science and faith, helping children and young people better understand God and His creation.

Their passion is to serve, restore, and sow hope, trusting that God continues to bring holistic and lasting transformation to individuals and communities.
