As an intern, I will partner with a variety of local, Thai-led ministries which focus on investing their time, love, and care in children and teens in Bangkok. These ministry partners each approach ministry in different ways, and I will grow in how to apply my gifts within flexibility of service. I will help in the following ministries: serving low income areas, hosting a neighborhood kids club, or teaching classes for refugees who don’t have access to education. I will offer a ministry of presence, working with the Thai ministries Monday through Friday in any capacity needed. While there, I will be immersed in Thai culture. The other summer interns and I will live together on our own while taking an intensive Thai language learning course. Additionally, I will attend and get involved in a local Thai church, engaging in the 1% Christian community in Thailand. Avance’s vision is to shower God’s love over those at risk, and I am so excited to join this vision and share it with you!
