I will be working with the Mesa missionary-founded company Nuru on their solar power microgrids in eastern Congo. I have combined my passion for the environment with my reflections on growing up in the Middle East, a region where energy drove much conflict. I realized that clean electricity is truly transformative and needed, and I am excited that God has given me the opportunity to use my vocation in a meaningful way.

I will be using my chemical engineering degree and my biomass powerplant experience to help navigate the unique challenges of serving in this area. I will be applying my analytical and organizational skills in the energy sector, developing new tools and automation to assist in keeping these solar operations running smoothly. Throughout this trip, I will work with the company to learn about all the facets of missional business, entrepreneurship, and problem solving. I am excited for what this mission internship has for me both as an engineer and as a servant of God.

  • Pray for safety and security for everyone in a conflict-prone environment.
  • Pray for continued good relationships with local community members and for fruitful partnerships to arise.
  • Pray for continued faithfulness for the team and all the believers in eastern Congo to do God’s will.
