In Uganda, education opens doors to hope—and for many young women, those doors are finally beginning to open wide.
Matt and Shelley Actis, Mesa Workers in Uganda, founded the New Life Skills Center through their ministry, Hope58. The center provides education and vocational training for women who were once denied the chance to learn.
Students gain literacy, English, and Bible study alongside skills like tailoring, farming, and business. For many, it’s their first experience of confidence and dignity.
Doreen’s story captures it all. Orphaned young and denied schooling, she entered the program unsure of her worth. Now she supports her son, runs her own small business, and shares her faith with others—a living testimony of what happens when opportunity meets the gospel.
Through Hope58, dozens more women are discovering their God-given purpose and potential.
One classroom opened. One woman empowered. One future transformed.
